ARCS 이론을 적용한 음악감상수업 모형연구

Abstract

학습자의 동기를 계속 유지시키는 일은 교사가 항상 중요하게 여겨야 할 부분이다. 수업의 효과성을 높이기 위해서는 학습자 스스로 동기를 일으켜 수업을 지속적으로 끌고 나갈 수 있기 때문이다. 특히 음악 감상 영역 부분은 학습자가 수업의 목표를 가지고 무언가 성취하기 위한 동기적 요소가 부족 한 부분이다. 현 감상 수업의 실태는 곡에 대한 간단한 설명 후 곡 을 듣고, 감상문 쓰기 정도에 불과하다고 볼 수 있기 때문에 학습자는 곡을 들으며 '왜 내가 듣고, 느낀 점을 감상해야 하는지 그 목적을 찾아보기 힘들다. 하지만 음악감상 능력은 음악교육에서 가장 기본적인 것이고, 다른 영역의 능력 수준을 높여주는데 도움이 된다. 이에 본 연구는 현 감상수업에서의 문제점을 인식하여 여러 선행연구에서의 켈러의 ARCS 이론을 적용한 수업의 효과성이 밝혀짐을 참고하여, 감상수업의 문제점을 개선하고, 효과적인 수업을 위해 ARCS 이론을 적용한 다양한 동기전략을 제시해 보았다. 켈러의 ARCS 이론은 학습자들에게 동기를 유발하기 위한 동기전략으로 주의집중(Attention), 관련성(Relevance), 자신감(Confidence), 만족감(Satisfaction) 의 4가지 요소를 가지고 각 요소에 맞는 동기전략을 구안해낸 이론이다. 연구의 방법은 켈러의 ARCS 이론에 대해 연구하고, 켈러가 제시한 동기전략을 기본으로 감상수업에 적합한 동기전략을 연구하고, 최종적으로 그 동기전략을 무소르그스키 의 '전람회의 그림' 수업에 알맞게 지도안으로 정리하였다. 2차시로 나누어 각 수업단계별로 적절한 동기전략을 제시하였고, 동기전략을 세부적으로 명시 한 뒤, 어떠한 요소가 쓰였는지 표기하였다. 동기전략을 적용함에 있어 도입 전개 결말 부분에 ARCS 4가지 요소를 모두 이용하고, 학생들이 활동을 적극적으로 할 수 있는 이야기 만들기나 토론 발표의 수업 활동으로 진행하였다. 각 단계에 맞게 4가지 요소를 사용하는데 무리가 없어, 실제 수업현장에서 동기를 이끌어 내어 수업의 효과를 높일 수 있는 긍정적 기대를 갖게 하였다.

To keep study motivations of the students is important for the teacher to watch who should have consistent focus on it, which is because students should have the motivations by themselves so that the teacher could continue classes successfully to increase the efficiency of the class. Especially music appreciation is not an easy area where the motivation factors of the students are not strong to have learning objective and consequently to accomplish something. Because current situation of music appreciation class is just a simple procedure to listen to music after brief summary and write a review, students are difficult to identify why I listen to this music and what are the impressions of this music, which means the students cannot find the objective to appreciate the music. However, music appreciation is the basic capability in music education and it could help to improve studying capabilities in other areas. And therefore in this study, current problems of music appreciation class were identified and various motivation strategies were suggested to improve the problems in music appreciation class and to have efficient classes by applying ARCS theory where current problems in music appreciation class were recognized. By referring to the effectiveness of Keller's ARCS theory which was applied in various preceding studies, those effects were finally identified to be effective. Keller's ARCS theory is the motivation strategy which is to create the motivation of the students with four elements including Attention, Relevance, Confidence and Satisfaction and it is discerning individual motivation strategies which are most suitable for each element. Research method is to study Keller's ARCS theory and to study proper motivation strategies based on his motivation strategies and finally the guidelines of instruction after applying his motivation strategies were organized that it could be suitable for the class of "Pictures at an exhibition" of Mussorgsky. With two steps of classes, proper motivation strategies were provided in each class step and individual strategies were specified in details and used elements were subsequently written. In the procedures of applying motivation strategies, all four ARCS strategies were used in the procedures of introduction, developments and ending. The classes were progressed in order that students made their own stories which they could do actively and discussion and expression oriented classes for the students could be obtained. In each step, there were no problems in using four elements according to each step, which could draw the motivational induction at the physical sites of classes and positive expectations to increase the efficiency of classes.
